NEWS ROUNDUP: West Yorkshire Covid Vaccines and York Gran Surprise

The leader of the West Yorkshire COVID-19 Vaccination programme Dr Phil Wood has paid tribute to the fantastic efforts of GPs, pharmacists and NHS staff as 531,052 people have now been vaccinated. That amounts to approximately a quarter of the adult population in West Yorkshire who have been given a first dose of the vaccine.
A doting grandson who couldn’t visit his grandmother in York for her 90th birthday had a six-foot banner of his face delivered to her home. Simon Rodgers treated his nan Maureen White with the special gift for her big day which caught her completely by surprise.
The Yorkshire Dales and York Minster are included in an LNER poll on the most picturesque views in the UK. The research revealed two thirds of us have desperately missed being able to visit UK beauty spots.
