NEWS ROUNDUP: Leeds home improvements report and rugby mental health initiative
More than 17,000 privately rented homes in Leeds need urgent improvements to reach acceptable living standards - that’s according to a report which also claims excessive cold, damp, disrepair and fire safety issues are some of the problems faced by one in four of the city’s 70,000 privately-owned tenanted homes. Huddersfield Giants, Castleford Tigers and Bradford Bulls are among the first clubs to deliver the programme, which has already helped more than 168 players.
