NEWS ROUNDUP: School secondary places and Great Yorkshire Show update
The number of children who have been offered their first preference secondary school is the highest it’s ever been in Leeds, rising to 7,942.
The number of children receiving one of their 5 preferences has risen to 9,295, up from 9,085 last year.
A husband who has only been able to see his wife of 54 years through a care home window for the last 8 months has revealed he cried when he heard he'd be able to hold her hand again. Terry Megeary can visit Lynne inside the her Hull care home when visiting restrictions are slightly lifted next week.
Plans are underway for the Great Yorkshire Show to be held this year following the restriction roadmap announcement. It’s due to take place between the 13th and 15th of July.
