NEWS ROUNDUP: Leeds Fest vaccine passports and fresh business support

The boss of Leeds Festival, Melvin Benn, has said he’s confident Leeds and Reading 2021 will be going ahead but fans will “almost certainly” require a vaccine passport proving they are COVID-19-free or have been vaccinated.
More details will be announced nearer the event which is set to take place between the 27th and 29th of August.

Businesses are being encouraged to apply for new COVID-19 funding support as Leeds prepares for the next crucial stages of the lockdown exit roadmap.
One-off restart grants are now available for eligible businesses from Leeds City Council to help with the cost of reopening. Non-essential retailers could receive as much as £6,000 worth of support, while businesses in the personal care, gym, leisure, accommodation and hospitality sectors could be given up to £18,000.
