Local bar owners have joined forces to create Leeds’ largest outdoor drinking area covered with a 50m canopy opening on April 12th.
For five weeks, Merrion street will be able to seat 200 people to provide an outdoor social space in line with the Government Roadmap.
Manahatta, MOJO, Verve, Mean Eyed Cat, Roxy Ball Room, Yard & Coop and Liv Bar are taking part in Leeds’ newest venture.
The layout is likely to resemble the Merrion Street Party Festival in 2020. It’s design has been described as “a place to meet with friends in a safe, fun and sheltered space”.
Walk ins are welcome but customers are encouraged to book to avoid disappointment.
Merrion street says: “It’s time for 5 weeks of great music, great food and great drinks from 12th April-17th May”. All venues involved will offer a selection of their signature dishes and their beloved beverages to enjoy.
Martin Greenhow MD of MOJOS said: “Everyone on Merrion Street is immensely excited to welcome back all our old friends and guests and finally offer some much-needed relief from the house arrest we’ve all had to endure. At last, someone else will make you a drink and take care of the cooking!”
