BRITS RED CARPET: As Little Mix make history with music stars uniting behind key workers

By George Hancorn

The Brit Awards returned after a hiatus due to the pandemic - and it was back with a bang!

The biggest stars from around the globe descended on the O2 Arena as part of the government pilot for live events. No masks or distancing - the audience made up of key frontline workers with negative tests needed to be guaranteed a seat.

Starting the show, were a few famous faces - oh and Jackie Weaver!

Inside the O2 and Jack Whitehall back as host for the fourth time in Brits history

All 2021 winners received two bespoke-designed trophies, allowing them to regift one of the pair to their own person of choice - and it wouldn’t be an award show without winners - there were plenty of them.

Haim scooped international group.

Whilst the most nominated girl band in BRITs history, Little Mix finally took the title of British Group- the first female group to win the category

Harry Styles took best British Single

And Dua Lipa was crowned in two out of the three categories she was up for - Female Solo Artist and MasterCard Album of the year - showing her support for the key workers in attendance in this acceptance speech

And Taylor Swift given a special Global Icon awards

Performances a plenty as always at the Brits...

And a special performance from Olly Alexander and Elton John after the success of series It’s A Sin...

A first night out for many from lockdown, and hopefully a sing of things to come...
