FOUR DAY WEEK: with millions of companies set to make the switch
More than one million companies across the UK could move to a four-day working week post-pandemic.
According to think tank Autonomy, British businesses are set to rethink their employment practices, which could results in a shorter working week for three million employees.
It follows a survey from Be the Business - which found nearly 1 in 5 British companies were considering a move to a four-day working week, whilst 300,000 have already adopted the practise.
Industry leaders like Unilever and Microsoft are amongst those who’ve begun trialling a reduced working week, with many seeing a rise in productivity.
Analysis by the TUC suggests British workers put in the longest full-time working week of any European country except for Greece - but still lags behind its European neighbours on productivity.
