NATIONAL NEWS ROUNDUP: Unemployment drops across UK & Tesco fined for out-of-date food
Britain's unemployment rate has fallen for the second month in a row as job vacancies surged as lockdown restrictions eased, that according to figures from the Office for National Statistics. The rate of joblessness fell to 4.9% between December and February, down from 5% in the previous three months of the year.
Supermarket giant Tesco has been fined over seven million pounds for selling out of date food in three of it's stores. The retailer admitted twenty two breaches of the Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations relating to incidents between 2016 and 2017.
A study of patients with blood cancer found that a single dose of a covid vaccine triggers an immune response in around 70% of patients. Experts tested for coronavirus antibodies in ninety three people with myeloma, with researchers explaining the findings suggest the jab provides protection.
