NEWS ROUNDUP: Yorkshire Jungle and Surfboard Surprise
A Yorkshire dad of 3 has devoted the last 30 years transforming the back garden of his detached house into a ‘jungle’ with 100-foot tall palm trees. Dr Simon Olpin has always been passionate about nature but due to his fear of flying he’s never been able to travel the world to see any jungles. The clinical biochemist has, instead, brought the jungle to Sheffield after planting his first tree from a small pot back in 1987.
Lee Brogan has been reunited with his surfboard a month after it was lost in the sea at Runswick Bay in North Yorkshire. It drifted more than 400 miles to Shetland where a couple posted the find on social media and it was soon reunited with Lee.
