NEWS ROUNDUP: Brown bin update and Song of the Female Textile Workers
Leeds residents are being advised that brown bin collections will resume in the city from Monday the 22nd of March.
Due to the continued impact of Covid19 and lockdown three on staffing levels, and the amount of extra black and green bin waste being presented as more of us work from home, the resumption of the brown bin service is now expected before Easter.
A new partnership project has begun to weave together the histories of female textile workers in Leeds and Shanghai through the power of Chinese opera. The project has seen Leeds Industrial Museum team up with researchers at the University of Leeds to explore the commonalities between the women who toiled in textile factories and on production lines thousands of miles apart.
