FURY V AJ: Showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua off?

FURY V AJ: Showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua off?

The highly anticipated heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could be off this summer with the two Brits having to take part in other fights.

Despite the agreement between Fury and Joshua to fight each other in Saudi Arabia, a court order may prevent it going ahead this summer.

32 year-old Tyson Fury may now have to fight Deontay Wilder after a arbitration hearing concluded that Fury was contractually obliged to fight Wilder for a third time. That fight is due to take place in Las Vegas on the 24th July.

This would mean any potential match-up with Anthony Joshua would have to wait for at least the winter.

‘It is what it is’

Tyson Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum said Fury will ‘take out his frustration and anger on Wilder’. He said there was ‘no chance’ Deontay Wilder would stand aside.

“The judge said he had a right to the rematch and we are going to go ahead with it. It is what it is.

"He will take out his frustration and anger on Wilder and he tells me he will knock Wilder out quicker than he did last time."
