JIMENEZ TEST: Nuno update on Raul’s fitness ahead of Brighton clash

Wolverhampton Wanderers host Brighton in their penultimate home game of the season with both sides having little to play for.

Striker Raul Jimenez is working towards returning and has a test this week, but he is still unlikely to return this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed the Mexican will have a test on May 18th to see where

"Raul has an exam and is going to see the specialist on the 18th of this month, so from thereon we’ll know exactly what we need to do, " the Wolves boss said.

"We need the clearance from the specialist and it’s going to happen on the 18th.

“Until then, he’s working, he’s totally fit, we still have precautions on him heading the ball and contact, but the 18th will be an important day for us to move forward and make the right decisions.”

It sounds positive for Jimenez and if all goes well with the test he'll be raring to go next season.

Brighton are basically safe from relegation while Wolves' hopes of a top-half finish are slim.

Wolves have lost one of their last 13 league meetings with Brighton although the Seagulls haven't lost at Molineux since 2006.

Molineux hasn't been a happy hunting ground for Wolves recently either. They've lost three of their last four there.

In fact, Wolves have never beaten Brighton in a top-flight match in 11 attempts. It's the most one team has faced another in English top-flight history without winning.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have failed to score in eight of their last 11 meetings with Brighton too.

They're looking to win after drawing with local rivals West Bromwich Albion in the Black Country Derby.

Wolves team news ahead of Brighton clash

Nuno confirmed that Joao Moutinho could be available for selection while Willy Boly nears a return.

On Boly, Nuno said, “He’s much better, he had problems with fatigue and has been infected, but he’s getting better.

"He’s been able to join part of the sessions and he’s getting better. We didn’t know what was really happening but came to the diagnosis and felt more relaxed.

"We are aware that he needs a couple days more to get back to total fitness. No [for Brighton], hopefully yes [for Tottenham]."
