CHOOSE A CHALLENGE: Carers Leeds celebrates International Women’s Day with online events
Monday 8th of March marks International Women's Day and Carers Leeds are hosting a range of activities including workshops, discussions and conversations to celebrate!
This years theme for International Women's Day 2021 is "Choose a challenge"
"A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So let's all choose to challenge".
Organisers of International Women's Day are encouraging individuals and organizations to send in their #ChooseToChallenge images on social media. You can strike the #ChooseToChallenge pose with your hand high to show your commitment to choose to challenge inequality, call out bias, question stereotypes, and help forge an inclusive world.
At 10:30am on 8th March Carers Leeds will be joined by panelists sharing their personal perspective on the theme of challenge.
Carers Leeds said: "Our workshops will provide smaller spaces for us to connect and share. A welcoming Zoom morning celebrating women, female carers are invited join in as much or little as you like. You can ask questions, take a moment for yourself and connect with others".
Guest panelists include:
- Angela Awuah - former carer and Chief Executive of Mental Health The Arts, a creative arts academy for young people.
- Alison Lowe - Chief Executive and LGTQ champion of Touchstone and an Honorary Alderwoman for the city of Leeds.
- Emma Roberts - a Neurodivergent survivor living with mental Illness, who developed Blueglassesgirl to use creativity to reduce ableism.
